What does your uptime target allow?
Turn an availability percentage into a downtime budget for a real calendar month.
The formula
Allowed downtime = period duration × (1 − availability / 100)
For a 30-day month, 99.9% allows 43 minutes 12 seconds. At 99.99%, the same month allows 4 minutes 19.2 seconds. February has 28 or 29 days; a 31-day month has a larger duration budget. This calculator uses full UTC calendar months and rounds display values to the nearest millisecond.
A budget is not a guarantee
This is a duration-based calculation, not a contractual SLA assessment or a promise of Statance service availability. Contracts can define exclusions, planned maintenance, eligible requests, regional aggregation and credits differently. Request-based availability is a different calculation.
Periodic checks also cannot measure every instant between samples. Choose a check interval that fits your needs and distinguish observed uptime from guaranteed availability.
